BUFFALO is an instrumental group formed in 2008 in Zarautz (Gipuzkoa). Its four members have a great trajectory in the music world.
David Gorospe (drums), Nacho Soto (piano) and Joanes Ederra (bass) completed their training at Musikene (the latter has resumed his music studies at Musikene, this time with the double bass) and Ander is studying a higher degree in music at UNIR. They have an extensive experience working with artists such as Izaro, Benito Lertxundi, Idoia, Gozategi, Julen Alonso, collaborations with the BOS… The tour of the album “Zinematik” (self-production,2015), recorded live at the Cine Modelo in Zarautz (Gipuzkoa), led them to perform at festivals such as: Heineken Jazzaldia, Donostia; Kutxa Kultur Festibala; Goierri Jazz Festival, Ordizia; Zarautz Pro Surf Festival; Surfilm Festival; etc.
In 2017 they were selected to participate in the Katapulta Tour circuit, a circuit promoted by the Department of Culture, Youth and Sports of the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa.
In 2018 they published ‘Ulu’, their third full-length album. A work that they presented at the Kafe Antzokia in Bilbao together with the American band Luna. That same tour took them to play in cities like Madrid, Barcelona, Santander and festivals like “Glad is The Day” (Donostia). In 2020 they began to collaborate with Nacho Soto, a keyboard player from Gijón who has completed his higher studies in piano (jazz) at Musikene. The result of this collaboration was so satisfactory that Nacho became part of the band. In the last few weeks they have been working on new arrangements of the band’s most relevant songs and composing new ones. The band, which has been active for 12 years, will be recording a fourth album in which they will compile their best songs and some unpublished ones with Nacho’s distinctive touch on the keyboard.
